Delegations

Pacific Council delegations travel domestically and internationally to understand first-hand the issues, people, events, and trends that influence our world. Visits range from a full day on a Local Field Foray to a week on a Country Dialogue.

In fostering closer ties with leaders, thinkers, partners, and institutions that are shaping our world, delegates serve as ambassadors representing the Pacific Council during the visit and bring back new ideas upon return. In line with the Council's focus on connecting local experience to international issues, many of our trips look closely at problems and solutions taking place in local communities both historically and presently and how they relate to high levels of international policy and decision-making.

Local Field Forays

Local field forays are half to one-day trips within the Southern California region that visit local sites of foreign policy interest. These trips are open to all members.

National Delegations

National Delegations visit U.S. sites and cities that are dynamic centers of policy, diplomacy, and security. These trips are more substantive and policy-focused and provide member experts an opportunity to contribute to a deep dive into a key global issue. These trips are open to all members.

Country Dialogues

Country Dialogues bring participants closer to the internal workings of countries that figure prominently in world affairs through high-level meetings with senior business, cultural, and political leaders. These trips aim to foster a deeper understanding of international affairs and to strengthen global discourse through exchanges with key political and cultural stakeholders. Country Dialogues are exclusively available to Sustaining Members. Learn more about how to become a Sustaining Member here.

Global Delegations

Global Delegations allow general members the opportunity to travel abroad with the Council without being a Sustaining Member. These trips are orchestrated as substantive engagement opportunities for the general membership.

Emerging Leaders Delegations

Emerging Leaders delegations are an inclusivity-focused program providing opportunities for young professionals from the Pacific Council community to participate on trips and engage with experts and fellow Council members. These trips also serve as professional development opportunities within a policy-oriented context.
