Program Description

Designed for undergraduate, graduate, and recently graduated students with a demonstrated interest in international affairs, the Pacific Council Junior Fellows Program is an opportunity for individuals to gain experience in international relations through a member-based non-profit. Individuals selected will complete projects for their specific departments and some cross-departmental tasks. Tasks will include but are not limited to assistance with event programming, logistics, writing, editing, research, membership administration, and general administrative assistance.

Key Dates 

March 1 - Applications for Summer 2024 Open 

May 10 - Applications for Summer 2024 Close; Applications are accepted for interviews on a rolling basis  

Week of June 10 - First week of the Summer 2024 program; Start dates are flexible


Eligible candidates must be in their junior or senior level of undergraduate courses, a graduate student, or a recent graduate of either with a degree in international relations or related subjects; must have a strong academic record; and must be eligible to work at least 15 hours a week. Positions are remote but may have in-person opportunities  – days are flexible. Candidates should have prior experience in a professional office setting, excellent written, oral communication, and computer skills, strong attention to detail, resourcefulness and creativity, and the capacity to balance and efficiently prioritize a range of responsibilities. Interest in international policy and a commitment to the Pacific Council’s mission and inclusivity is critical.


Mentorship & Coaching

Fellows will participate in regular check-ins with their supervisors, as well as meetings with other staff. During these times, we will assess areas for your growth and support to ensure a productive and enjoyable program experience for you. We also provide a modest fund for you to take staff out to coffee to learn more about their career trajectories and build new professional relationships. Your social and professional growth is important to us!

We are thrilled to offer event access to our Fellows over the course of their term. You can see the types of events we hold here. Fellows will also get access to our large-scale events including Member's Weekend and Mayor's Forum.

Financial Support

The Junior Fellows program is unpaid.
