Dr. Ibrahim Al-Marashi is an assistant professor of Middle East history at California State University, San Marcos. He has a doctorate of philosophy from the University of Oxford, an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and three BA's from UCLA and UC San Diego. He has taught at Cal State San Marcos, IE University in Spain, the University of Pennsylvania, Bogazici University and Sabanci University in Turkey, and the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California. He served as an International Policy Fellow in the Center for Policy Studies in Central European University in Hungary and has written two books: The Modern History of Iraq with Phebe Marr and Iraq's Armed Forces: An Analytical History with Sammy Salama.
