A webinar on how to leverage your expertise to conceptualize, write, and pitch an op-ed to media outlets.

We will address questions such as how to generate an idea for an op-ed, knowing where to pitch, and understanding submission guidelines. This session is recommended for anyone who is interested in honing their expertise to craft a compelling and articulate op-ed that will be noticed by editors.

Michael Judge is a professor at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication, a former deputy editorial features editor at The Wall Street Journal, and a former deputy editorial page editor at The Asian Wall Street Journal. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, his career as a writer and editor spans more than two decades on three continents. His op-eds, editorials, articles, essays, interviews, and reviews have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The European Wall Street Journal, The Asian Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Japan Times, the Far Eastern Economic Review, NPR, the Columbia Journalism Review, the Chicago Tribune, Politico, and Smithsonian magazine, among other publications.
