A special dinner event together with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to honor Mary Robinson, the first woman president of Ireland (1990-1997) and the former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (1997-2002), as she accepts the Warren Christopher Public Service Award.

From the beginning of her career in public life, Mary Robinson has been a dedicated human rights advocate, standing up for those most in need and without a voice in public affairs, a champion for the rights of women and the care of the children at home and around the world. She currently serves as President of the Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice. Between March 2013 and August 2014 she was the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to the Great Lakes Region of Africa. In August 2014 she was appointed the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy on Climate Change.

The Award

The Pacific Council's Warren Christopher Public Service Award honors the lifetime achievements of former Secretary of State Warren Christopher, the longtime Chair of the Pacific Council's Board of Directors.

The Christopher Award is presented to those who demonstrate commitment to international and domestic affairs, to the highest ethical standards, to promotion of the common good, to equality and fairness, and to government service as a noble pursuit. Read more.​
