Junichi Ihara is Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles. Prior to this appointment, he served as deputy director-general of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau. His recent positions include minister at the Embassy of Japan in the United States (2004-2006) and the director of the Financial Affairs Division (2002-2004).
