A special luncheon discussion event with Amb. Johan Verbeke, Ambassador of Belgium to the United States. Reserved for our President's Circle and Chairman's Circle members, this small gathering of Sustaining Members provided an informal space to discuss with Amb. Verbeke issues related to European policy in a new era of security and economic challenges.
 
With an ongoing conflict in Ukraine, relations with Russia at their lowest point since the end of the Cold War, and the growing threat from extremism, Amb. Verbeke discussed the European approach to promoting peace and security at home and abroad. Amb. Verkebe also shared his thoughts on European efforts to promote economic recovery in the Eurozone, and considered how the United States and European Union can improve cooperation to better achieve their respective strategic aims.
