Global Water Scarcity

TBD

This event is part of Deep Dive, a week of activities under our Global Water Scarcity Initiative. Deep Dive will be postponed until early 2019. Stay tuned for more details.

Many parts of Mexico face a severe water crisis. In Mexico City alone more than 250,000 people live without a connection to the water mains network. Join us for a discussion and meet and greet with our partners at Isla Urbana, a social enterprise and rainwater harvesting organization addressing this challenge from their headquarters in Mexico City.

Isla Urbana works at a household and community level to give people access to clean and sustainable water through installing water harvesting systems that recapture and treat rainwater. The Pacific Council is collaborating with Isla Urbana to support two ongoing projects: a policy advising program and a summer program for local high school students. We’ll learn more about their work, and discuss how Council members can support their efforts in an ongoing way.
