A Virtual Campfire Chat with Matt Peterson, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Clean Tech Incubator.

With the COVID-19 pandemic crisis putting millions of lives at risk and our economy at a near halt, we are reminded of the need to reduce air pollution to help reduce vulnerability to viruses as well as tackle the climate crisis. How can we use this moment as we work to protect public health and restart the economy to embrace opportunities to support innovators, small businesses, and entrepreneurs through local, state, and federal funding and initiatives. As Congress considers the fourth and likely fifth COVID-19 related funding packages, are their opportunities we need to call for for green stimulus and infrastructure that put people back to work thorugh small businesses and startups deploying solutions?

Matt Petersen is the President and CEO of Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI.) LACI's three priorities are accelerating transportation electrification, clean energy, and sustainable cities, including by supporting startups, regional partnerships, and workforce development. Prior to joining LACI, Mr. Petersen was appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti as the first ever Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Los Angeles.
