Suzanna Pacht Brickman serves as Pro Bono Counsel and International Pro Bono Counsel at the global law firm of DLA Piper. As International Pro Bono Counsel, Suzanna works with New Perimeter, the firm’s non-profit affiliate providing long-term global pro bono assistance in underserved regions of the world. In partnership with NGOs, universities, and government agencies, Suzanna has managed and participated in pro bono work, including training of lawyers and law students, in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, focusing on access to justice, sound legal institutions, social and economic development, and women’s advancement around the world.

Also a member of DLA Piper’s North America pro bono team, Suzanna oversees and develops the pro bono program in several of DLA Piper’s US offices. In this role, Suzanna works closely with colleagues, legal services providers, and other stakeholders to harness the talents of DLA Piper lawyers to address pressing issues and fill gaps in access to justice through the provision of pro bono legal services. Suzanna is based in the firm’s Northern California offices.

Suzanna graduated with honors from The Johns Hopkins University, where she was a political science major and Latin American studies minor. In college, Suzanna spent two mini-terms in Cuba, and a summer abroad in the United Kingdom. She went on to receive a master’s degree in diplomatic history, with merit, from the London School of Economics, where she focused on US-Cuba relations. Suzanna received her law degree from Stanford Law School. Before joining DLA Piper, Suzanna was a commercial litigator at Morrison & Foerster, where she worked primarily with Silicon Valley technology companies, and completed a one-year fellowship as an in-house lawyer at Johns Hopkins.
