Mădălin Blidaru is a second-year Ph.D. student in Political Science at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) in Bucharest, Romania. Within the study of the EU foreign policy, his research topic is centered around the interregional dynamics between the EU and other regional initiatives.

With a background in International Relations and European Studies, he earned a master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Negotiations, as well as an European Master in Labour Studies. Besides the interest in the EU foreign policy, among his areas of interest, you can find European institutions, EU policy- and decision-making processes, transatlantic security, regional studies and global governance.

In 2017, he was a fellow of the African Union - European Union Youth Plug-In Initiative, contributing to the development of a set of policy proposals and recommendations under the youth agenda proposed to the heads of state and governments reunited within the AU-EU Summit. In 2016, he was a youth delegate to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.

Most recently, he worked in European affairs, at policy level, during the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council, in the field of international environmental issues.

In the Romanian public space, he has been involved in policy debates, publishing policy papers on foreign policy and awareness articles related to current international affairs.
