HILDEGARDE AGUINALDO currently serves as Director and Corporate Counsel for DaVita, Inc., a Fortune 200® company whose mission is to be the Provider, Partner, and Employer of Choice. DaVita, Inc. is the parent company of DaVita Kidney Care, a leading provider of dialysis services that operates or provides administrative services to over 2,500 clinics in the United States and abroad. Ms. Aguinaldo is an active member of the company’s Diversity & Inclusion and Pro Bono committees.

In addition to her career-long work in healthcare litigation, Ms. Aguinaldo has seen the healthcare field from numerous other perspectives: as a member of a state regulatory board overseeing the licensing of healthcare providers, as a member of a county advisory board advising on the utilization of healthcare resources, as a member of a hospital’s governing board collaborating with management, and most importantly, as a patient.

In 2018, Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. appointed Ms. Aguinaldo to the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, the largest system of higher education in the nation, serving over 2.1 million students across 114 campuses. In 2013, Governor Brown had appointed her to the California Acupuncture Board, where she was elected President and appointed Chairperson of its Enforcement Committee.

Ms. Aguinaldo’s longest commitment has been to advocate for the Filipino-American community. From 2014 to 2015, following over a decade of involvement in the organization, Ms. Aguinaldo served as President of the Philippine American Bar Association (PABA), where she sharpened its efforts to advance judicial diversity and promote civic engagement. Ms. Aguinaldo continues to carry out PABA’s mission in celebrating the contributions of the Filipino-American community and empowering students and attorneys to advance in the legal profession.
