Alyssa Litoff is an Emmy Award–winning documentary and television producer whose work spans civil discourse, foreign and domestic policy, cultural programming, and long-form storytelling. With more than two decades at PBS, ABC News, and NBC News, she has led major productions from inception through broadcast across some of the most respected platforms in American media.
At PBS, Litoff spent six years as Executive Producer and Showrunner of Firing Line with Margaret Hoover, revitalizing the iconic franchise through newsmaking interviews, an innovative multiplatform strategy, and a renewed focus on civil dialogue. She also directed and produced the acclaimed 2024 documentary Counting the Vote and is currently spearheading the revival of PBS’s landmark Ethics in America series.
Previously, she spent 17 years at ABC News and ABC Sports, ultimately serving as Executive Producer of World News Tonight Weekend, where she guided the program to become the most-watched Sunday evening newscast in the country. As a producer for Nightline, she reported globally on pivotal events including presidential campaigns, the Haiti earthquake, and the swine flu outbreak in Mexico City.
Litoff’s work has been honored with an Emmy Award, a duPont-Columbia Award, multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards, and an Overseas Press Club Award.
She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Joshua Gordon, and their three daughters. Over the summer, they took their girls, ages 14, 12, and 7, on an around-the-world trip — visiting five continents — in order to instill a sense of global awareness and open-minded engagement with the world.
