On Wednesday, December 10, at 6 pm PT, the Pacific Council and Miry’s List are partnering to co-host a special holiday gathering for the New Arrival Supper Club, an immersive community dining experience that will bring the Pacific Council community and newly arrived refugee families together around a shared table. This event offers an opportunity to connect across cultures, hear personal stories of emigration, and learn how our community can support resettling families.
A customary Syrian dinner will be prepared by the Kanjo family, new Americans from Syria, and guests will enjoy traditional Afghan music performed by Mustafa Samayee. Please note, this is a family-friendly event.
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
About New Arrival Supper Club
The New Arrival Supper Club is a culinary social-impact experience by Miry's List that directly counteracts the hardships of resettlement by creating space for newly arrived refugees to participate, share, and build connection with their new neighbors. It offers resettling chefs a platform to share their culture and gain income, become visible community contributors, and foster human connection beyond language. By gathering communities around a shared meal, the program bridges divides and humanizes the refugee experience.
