The Pacific Council is pleased to announce that our international delegation program will resume with a delegation to Oslo, Norway and Helsinki, Finland from May 1-5, 2023. Please save the dates. Formal invitation and registration materials forthcoming.
The delegation will explore policy issues relating to regional security, energy, U.S. relations with Norway and Finland, the impacts of climate change on the Arctic both in terms of security and trade, the effects of Russia’s invasion in Ukraine, and Finland’s shared border with Russia and the subsequent increasing strategic importance of NATO.
We will engage with a variety of senior government, military, and business leaders as well as key civil society leaders and the US diplomatic representation. The Pacific Council is fortunate to have the former Co-Chairman of our Board of Directors serving as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway Ambassador Marc Nathanson is assisting to organize and host our visit. Ambassador Nathanson will be spending time with our delegates.
We are very pleased that our first international delegation since the pandemic began will be to Norway and Finland, beautiful, culturally rich democratic nations that are an essential voices and security leaders throughout Europe and beyond.
