Veena Reddy is an attorney and leader in international development. She provides legal counsel on treaties, contracts, ethics, and other legal matters to the International Joint Commission, a bilateral U.S./Canada organization which promotes effective collaboration on shared boundary waters and ecosystems. She was a career diplomat as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Agency for international development, attaining the rank of Minister Counselor. She led USAID’s programs and operations in India and Bhutan as well as Cambodia, serving as a senior official with USAID at the U.S. Embassies in New Delhi and Phnom Penh. She also served in Haiti, Pakistan, Central Asia, and Central America in addition to Washington D.C., managing and advising on a wide range of programming spanning disaster response, economic growth, private sector partnerships, climate resiliency, health, food security, environment, education, child protection, Tibetan cultural preservation, atrocity prevention, and democracy and governance.
Prior to serving with the U.S. government, Ms. Reddy was a corporate attorney in New York, London, and Los Angeles. She holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Columbia University School of Law and an M.A. and B.A. from the University of Chicago.
