Dr. Giorgiana Martínezgarnelo y Calvo is the Director General of the Global Youth Leadership Forum (GYLF), the leading international and intergenerational dialogue forum, supported by international organizations, governments, companies, and universities to discuss the main challenges that the international community will face in the coming years. She chairs the Hispanic–Mexican altruistic, non-partisan, and non-profit organization JóvenesxMéxico®, an institution dedicated to improving access to education for young Mexicans with limited resources through scholarships, particularly in Spain.
She is a member of several international institutions in which she has represented Mexico, such as Business 20 (B-20), the economic and business community of the G-20, in Germany, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Italy, India, Brazil and South Africa this year. Within these forums, she provides cross-cutting recommendations on gender equality in employment, education, and entrepreneurship for the world’s 20 largest economies. She is also a member of the Mexican Council on Foreign Affairs (COMEXI) and a Coordinating Fellow of its Research and Reflection Unit, as well as a member of The Climate Reality Project (Climate Reality Leadership Corps), the climate-action organization led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Al Gore. She holds a PhD in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain; she is the only Mexican to have received the distinction of European Doctorate—an international honor awarded for academic merit within the doctoral program (graded Outstanding, Cum Laude). She also holds a Master’s degree in Trade and International Economics from the European University of Madrid.Dr. Giorgiana Martínezgarnelo y Calvo has received multiple distinctions for her leadership and public impact.
