Carolyn Miller graduated from Brigham Young University in 1972 with a BS degree in Accounting. She has held financial positions with the International Division of Carnation, Fritz Companies, Inc., Carlsberg Financial, Mattel and Van de Kamp's.

Following her marriage to Charles D. Miller (Chairman and CEO of Avery Dennison) in 1982 and subsequent move to Los Angeles, she became a mother, private investor, interior designer, and manager of family properties. She is president of Miller Ventures Inc., a real estate company, and a founding partner in Leigh Louise Interior Design.

Carolyn's philanthropic endeavors have included chairing the Heart Ball for the American Heart Association, hosting events for the United Way of Greater Los Angeles and the Rose Bowl Legacy Committee, organizing Girl Scout troops and volunteering with Operation Walk and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

Carolyn has been a board member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Los Angeles Opera, the Blue Ribbon and The Music Center. She has co-chaired LA Alive several times. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she has been involved in many sports initiatives including spearheading the growth of women's and girls' lacrosse in Southern California and, for ten years, served as a board member for the California Special Olympics.

She has been a lifelong collector of modern and contemporary art and has been a member of the Fellows of Contemporary Art since 1984. She has a love for traveling overseas, exploring new galleries and discovering up and coming artists.

Carolyn divides her time between Pasadena, California and Wilson, Wyoming.
