BOARD DIRECTOR COMMITMENT – 2017 As a Board Member of the Pacific Council on International Policy, I will exercise the duties and responsibilities of this office with integrity, collegiality and care. I am fully committed and dedicated to promoting the organization’s mission. I commit (please check boxes): Governance To seek involvement in strategic oversight and to respect the role of management in the day-to-day administration of the organization. To agree when asked to serve on at least one committee or task force and participate in the accomplishment of its objectives. To monitor and promote the financial health and overall well-being of the organization. To accept the organization’s bylaws and operating principles, to understand my legal obligations in governing the organization, and to abide by the Board of Directors Code of Conduct. To attend the majority of all meetings of the board, committees and task forces on which I serve. Resource Development To make a meaningful contribution on an annual basis. (for Directors from the non-profit sector, a typical annual gift is $10,000 or above; for those from the for-profit sector, a typical annual gift is $25,000 or above) To actively engage in fundraising for this organization in whatever ways are best suited for me. These may include individual or corporate solicitations, serving on a fundraising committee, writing mail appeals, and similar efforts to cultivate potential funders. To purchase or sell a table at the Pacific Council’s 2017 Gala, and at all future galas (galas are biennial). Engagement To participate in major organizational activities including strategic planning retreats, Members Weekend, Gala events, and periodic program activities. To be a Pacific Council ambassador by actively promoting the Pacific Council in my official biography and by furthering the Council and its mission in my professional and personal capacities. We trust each other to carry out the above agreements to the best of our ability.
