Join the Pacific Council on Tuesday, February 3, at 8 am PT to explore key takeaways from the California-led trade mission to Ukraine and Poland and what it signals for future state-led engagement in the region. Attendees will hear from Emily Desai, Chief Deputy Director, California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, The Honorable Dmytro Kushneruk, Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco, Patricia Utterback, International Trade and Investment Representative for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), and Andrew D’Anieri, Associate Director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center.

On Thursday, February 12, at 12 pm PT, the Pacific Council will host a private tour of The Sextant, followed by a conversation on U.S.–Cuba relations through the lens of art, history, and lived experience. Members will hear from the featured artist Enrique Martínez Celaya, Professor Teofilo Ruiz, Distinguished Research Professor from the Department of History at UCLA, and Joes Segal, Chief Curator and Director of Programming at the Wende Museum.

On Wednesday, February 18th, at 9 am PT, the Pacific Council will explore how governments are moving away from scientific collaboration and are instead leveraging scientific capabilities to advance economic competitiveness, safeguard digital and technological infrastructure, and strengthen national security. Attendees will hear from Professor Paul Arthur Berkman, Fellow, International Science Council & Founder, Science Diplomacy Center, and Dr. Jonathan I. Lunine, Chief Scientist, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA, and Pacific Council Science and Technology Senior Fellow.
