Ms. Anderson has a Masters from Harvard where she spent time at the Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Business School, as well as writing and researching for both Business School and National Security professors. Her graduate project was researched and written through Morgan Guaranty Bank's Fixed Income Department. The focus was on marketing socially responsible investment funds.
Kristina Anderson has reported almost daily on the White House since 2010. Her Washington coverage includes the Pentagon, State Department, Capitol Hill -since Senator James Webb’s election to the Senate (now Senator Kaine’s seat, embassy events and other Washington D.C. news.
Ms. Anderson has held CPA, CMA and AVA certificates, and a SEC license as a money market and equity trader; she worked for banks in New York as well as Europe. She began her love of professional journalism in the 1970s, working as a stringer for the Daily American and ANSA in Rome, Italy where she has family (Milan), later also as a volunteer for a community news publication and a large circulation private magazine in Portland, Oregon.
In Germany Ms. Anderson worked from 1987-1991 as a financial analyst on contract to banks, and as an independent researcher-writer. She completed research, writing and off-camera producer work for ABC News and later for a London-based research unit of the Economist.
Ms Anderson speaks passable Italian, German, French, a few words of Spanish, Norwegian and has mastered her mother tongue, English. Currently she's enjoying Swedish- Danish tv crime series - with English subtitles and is reading her second of American crime novel, in Norwegian.
