Alex Jasiulek is the Member Outreach Officer at the Pacific Council on International Policy, where he works to help grow and enrich the Pacific Council community. He grew up in Oakland, California, attending public schools. This environment inspired him to follow a career in public service and community empowerment. He attended Columbia University earning a B.A. in Political Science and Race & Ethnicity Studies. His area of focus was modern colonial empires and his thesis reimagined colonial power structures in Algeria.
Prior to the Pacific Council, Alex led operations projects and communications campaigns in the education sector. There he developed a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. It is with this lens that he is currently helping to develop the Council’s recruitment efforts for the years to come. He also manages the Council’s Junior Fellow program for recent college graduates. He lives in Macarthur Park and spends his weekends supporting local queer artists and reading global fiction.
