New Member Nomination & Election Process

Nomination of New Members

Prospective Pacific Council members are nominated by existing Pacific Council members for consideration during the Council’s annual membership drive. Following a positive initial review of a candidate’s nomination letter and curriculum vitae, the Pacific Council's Board of Directors vote on the member prospects. After prospects are elected and remit their first annual dues payments, they become lifetime members of the Pacific Council (pending timely remittance of dues annually).

Notification of Candidates

Each year, the Pacific Council receives nominations for more members than it can accommodate. Some candidates may not be elected in a given membership round even though they may embody many of the individual qualifications outlined above. Following the Board meeting at which new members are elected, the Pacific Council Membership Committee sends invitation letters to those candidates approved for membership. Invitations to membership are withdrawn if they are not accepted within 60 days. If a candidate is not recommended for membership, the candidate may be reconsidered in subsequent membership election rounds.
